Here I am back at the computer having taken time for family and special events in our life. Today, I want to address jealousy and what it means. No sermons, just something to think about.
Have you been jealous because of a possession someone has or something they are doing? Before you compare your self to them, think: They may be jealous of what you have. We never know unless they tell us or we know them on a personal basis where they have been. What have they have happen in their lives to get them where they are today. I read a post of face book about a young couple following Dave Ramsey on how to cut debt. They know if you want to get ahead, you must get rid of debt. They are doing that and I salute them for their effort. This is not an easy thing.
I leave you with this quote:
Jealousy is simply and clearly the fear that you do not have value. Jealousy scans for evidence to prove the point - that others will be preferred and rewarded more than you. There is only one alternative - self-value. If you cannot love yourself, you will not believe that you are loved. You will always think it's a mistake or luck. Take your eyes off others and turn the scanner within. Find the seeds of your jealousy, clear the old voices and experiences. Put all the energy into building your personal and emotional security. Then you will be the one others envy, and you can remember the pain and reach out to them. ~Jennifer James
Have a great week!
